Het WK Shorttrack komt weer naar Nederland! Op 5, 6 en 7 maart 2021 strijden de allerbeste shorttrackers om de wereldtitels in Dordrecht. Wegens COVID-19 helaas zonder publiek, maar dat betekent niet dat je het WK shorttrack niet kunt volgen. Alle wedstrijden zullen live te volgen zijn via de NOS op NPO1 en online via NOS.nl.
In 2017 was het WK shorttrack in Nederland al een spectaculair succes. Dit jaar mogen de Nederlandse shorttrackers opnieuw in eigen land gaan strijden om de wereldtitel. De ijshal van de Sportboulevard in Dordrecht is de plek waar het WK Shorttrack zal gaan plaatsvinden. De Gemeente Dordrecht is trots om in deze moeilijke tijd gastheer te zijn van dit evenement.
Het WK Shorttrack is, op de Olympische Spelen na, het grootste shorttrackevenement ter wereld. Niet alleen rijders als Sjinkie Knegt, Suzanne Schulting en de rest van TeamNL kijken uit naar dit evenement. Ook voor de internationale rijders is het WK een hoogtepunt. Ondanks COVID-19 zullen daarom toch de meeste landen deelnemen aan het WK.
Shorttrack is een sport met spanning, spektakel, snelheid en onvoorspelbaarheid en dus onweerstaanbaar om naar te kijken. Vrijdag zullen de kwalificaties plaats vinden. Deze zullen online te streamen zijn met live commentaar via NOS.nl. In het weekend worden de finales live uitgezonden via de NOS op NPO1. (Zaterdag tussen 13:30-18:00u en zondag tussen 13:10-18:00u.)

The ISU World Short Track Championships is coming back to the Netherlands. The best short trackers will compete for the world title on March 5, 6 and 7 of 2021 in Dordrecht, the Netherlands. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to have an audience there, due to COVID-19, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t watch it. It will be possible to watch every match live via the ISU livestream.
The World Championships were a spectacular success back in 2017. This year, the Dutch skaters are able to compete again in their own country for the world title. The Sportboulevard ice rink, in Dordrecht, is the place where the world championships will be held this year. The community of Dordrecht is very proud to be hosting this event in this tough time.
Besides the Olympics, the World Championships of Short Track is the biggest Short Track event in the world. Not only skaters like Sjinkie Knegt, Suzanne Schulting and everybody else that is part of TeamNL are looking forward to this event, but all skaters are seeing the Championships as a highlight. Most countries will participate, despite the COVID-19 situation.
Short Track Speed Skating is a sport that brings excitement, speed and unpredictability, which means it will be irresistible to watch. The qualification tournament will be held on Friday. It is possible to stream these matches online with live comments through the ISU livestream. Please go to this link (still needs to be added) to see where you can watch the event live.
